Please contact the Thai Embassy or Consulate in New Zealand directly for information regarding the 6-month Multiple-Entry Tourist Visa.

Could you please confirm that for tourist stays of less than 30 days one does not require a visa to enter Thailand. Can I just hop on the plane and arrive in Thailand with no visa?

    Many thanks

If you are Australian, UK or one of the other 46 countries, you definitely do not need a visa to enter Thailand. You are visa exempted and you can stay up to 30 days without a visa. You just need to show proof of funds, accommodation, onward flight or travel (to other countries or to home country) and passport valid for at least 6 months. It is free of charge.

There is no Thai consulate in Brisbane. You need to contact the Thai embassy in Canberra or Thai consulate in Sydney/Melbourne to assist you on this matter.

Hi! I’m french, so I had 1 month visa exemption, plus one more month extension. I need one more month. Can I cross the border and come back the same day? Or should I wait one day outside then cross the border?

Yes, you can come back on the same day when you do a border run to a neighboring country of Thailand.

I’ve been trying to call the Royal Thai Embassy in Sydney, Australia since Friday 22/04/16 but unfortunately no one is answering. I have also emailed a few times but no answer. The reason is that I had sent a passport to lodge a visa application at the Sydney office and it was delivered by Toll Priority in Australia. CDP in Suva is taking care of the delivery from Suva to Sydney, and I am worried since the passport holder will be traveling to Bangkok this weekend. Can you please advise on a telephone number that i can contact in the Sydney office please. Am really worried

If you’re unable to get hold of someone from their office, you might need to go there and personally visit them to get an update regarding the visa application.

    Hi there
I am planning to back through South East Asia and am wanting to start my travels in Thailand, then cross the borders through to other countries. I hold a New Zealand Passport which entitles me to a 30-day visa on arrival. I understand that in order to enter Thailand, I must show proof of onward travel leaving the country before the 30 days expires. (from what I have been told, this has to be a plane ticket showing that I am leaving Thailand)

Is there anyway possible to enter Thailand with a one way ticket without having to buy an exit ticket? I will be crossing the border into Laos before the 30 days expires, instead of flying.

Your help would be greatly appreciated

If you have a travel itinerary which shows your exit through the border at Laos, then you can present this to the immigration officer as proof of your onward travel from Thailand. You may also contact the airport where you will arrive to inquire about the documents that they would consider valid in this regard.
